Signing a PDF online: what the eIDAS framework covers
What a simple electronic signature is worth
The European eIDAS regulation recognises three signature levels. Our tool produces a simple electronic signature (SES): it has legal effect in the European Union and cannot be refused as evidence solely because of its electronic format. It suits the vast majority of everyday uses — quotes, commercial contracts, minutes, internal agreements.
What it does not replace
Some deeds require an advanced (AES) or qualified (QES) signature backed by a certificate issued by an accredited provider: notarial deeds, certain regulated contracts. For those cases, go through a certification provider — we would rather tell you than let you find out.
Document integrity and traceability
Once signed, the PDF is locked: any later modification becomes detectable. The affixed signature keeps its appearance (drawn, typed or imported) and the document is timestamped at export.

Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions below. For other inquiries, please contact us by email.
Is there a free version?
No: a 48-hour trial at 0.50 €, then 39.90 €/month, cancellation in one click. Free signature tools exist for occasional use; monthly document caps and promotional marking arrive quickly. The trial gives unlimited signing AND the 25+ PDF tools — useful for preparing the document before having it signed.
Does my electronic signature have legal value?
Yes: the tool produces a simple electronic signature within the meaning of the European eIDAS regulation, admissible as evidence in the European Union — a judge cannot dismiss it solely because it is electronic. It covers the majority of everyday uses: quotes, commercial contracts, internal agreements, minutes.
When is a qualified signature required instead?
For deeds under reinforced requirements — notarial deeds, certain regulated contracts — the law demands an advanced or qualified signature, backed by a certificate issued by an accredited provider. Our tool does not claim to replace them: we prefer to say so clearly.
How do I actually affix my signature?
Three ways: draw it (mouse or finger), type it (it is stylised), or import an image of your signature. Position, resize, export: the document is locked and timestamped at export.
Can the document be modified after signing?
Not without it showing: the signed PDF is locked and any later alteration becomes detectable. That integrity mechanism is what gives the electronic signature its seriousness.
Can several people sign?
Yes: each signatory affixes their signature at their spot, in turn. For an internal validation flow (multiple initials, initials per page), the editor lets you prepare the zones in advance.
Does signing work from a phone?
Perfectly — it is even the most frequent use: open the contract received by e-mail, sign with a finger, send back the locked PDF within the minute. No app to install.
What happens to the signed document?
You download it; we then delete it from our servers. Keeping the signed copy is up to you — good practice: archive it with the sending e-mail for traceability.
What your document keeps
Locked document
Once signed, the PDF is sealed: any later modification becomes detectable.
Signature appearance
Drawn, typed or imported — your signature keeps exactly the appearance you chose.
Timestamp
The document is timestamped at export: the signature's chronology is traceable.
